First thing i did is to cut my shifter. I removed the external part of the shifter (the one that has the rubber inside) and I replaced it with plain steel iron pipe (same size).
After spending one day experimending the distances of the gears and staff. I find it impossible to do. Have problems shifting from 2nd to 3rd and 4th to 5th.
Reason is because when you are in 2nd gear and want to shift to 3rd quickly the shifter can move to the right a little while in 2nd gear which makes shifting to 3rd quicker. This movement its impossible to do with shifter gate but anyway. The good part of it is that after cutting the shifter it became lighter and I can shift quicker than before.
I never understand whats the use of the top part of the shifter. I though that it can prevent vibrations but I dont have any vibration issues since cutting it. Actually i am happier with my shifter now than I was before. P.S I have a short throw shifter Shifter gate = Its something similar like lamborghini diablo has.
